Tsui Yiu Wa, Alec, is Chairman of WAG Worldsec Corporate Finance Limited, a Hong Kong based provider of corporate finance services. Mr. Tsui was the Chairman of the Hong Kong Securities Institute from Dec 2001 to Dec 2004, and also the Adviser and Council Member of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange from July 2001 to June 2002. Prior to his current appointment, he was the Chief Executive of Regent Pacific Group Limited, a Hong Kong listed investment company from August 2000 to February 2001. Mr. Tsui joined the Stock Exchange in 1994 as Executive Director of the Finance and Operations Services Division and became Chief Executive in 1997. He was the Chief Operating Officer of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited from March to July 2000. He was responsible for the merger and listing of the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Houses and was special consultant to the demutualization and listing project of Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange.
Mr. Tsui is an Independent Non-Executive Director of number of listed companies in Hong Kong, Shanghai and NASDAQ including, China Chengtong Development Group Limited, COSCO International Holdings Limited, China Power International Development Limited, Pacific Online Limited, Melco PBL Entertainment (Macau) Limited, ATA Inc., China Oilfield Services Limited and Summit Ascent Holdings Limited. He is Independent non-Exectiuve Director of Ageas Insurance Company (Asia) Ltd, Ageas Asia Holding Limited and also Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Asia) Limited. He is also Chairman of Hong Kong Professional Consultants Association Limited.
Mr. Tsui has extensive experience in finance and administration, corporate and strategic planning, information technology and human resources management. From 1989 to 1993, he was General Manager (Finance, Technology & Human Resources), and then Assistant Director (Licensing), and at the same time General Manager (Human Resources) of the Securities and Futures Commission. Mr. Tsui worked previously for 12 years in several private organisations, including Arthur Andersen & Co., Swire Bottlers Limited, and China Light and Power Company Limited, where he held technology and financial analysis, corporate planning and management responsibilities.
There is long history of Mr. Tsui’s involvement in government and community activities. He was former Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of Tracker Fund of Hong Kong, Chairman of the Organising Committee of the ICAC Professional Ethics Programme for the Securities, Futures and Investments Sectors, Member of the Standing Committee on Company Law Reform, Member of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council Financial Services Advisory Committee, Member of The Community Chest of Hong Kong Corporate and Employee Contribution Programme Organising Committee Banking and Finance Group, Member of the Banking and Finance Industry Training Board of the Vocational Training Council and a Member of the Investment Sub-Committee of the Government Committee of the Beat Drugs Fund Association.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Engineering degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee and has completed the Program for Senior Managers in Government at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
